After an afternoon of varied activities (some of us rested, others went shopping, others went door to door or ran a few errands, etc) we gathered at 6 pm at the Dancers home for a meal, Bible study, and prayer. Brian B led the study reading from 2 Peter chapter 1 and spoke enthusiastically about living the Christian life.
Then we shared prayer requests. We prayed for other congregations in England, for the people we have met so far as we go door-to-door, for the blessings received by some of the members of this congregation, and for our upcoming weekend events.
We enjoyed the fellowship of the saints together. It is a refreshing soul-lifter after speaking to people who are lost to gather as God's people and give Him all praise and honor. We opened our time together by singing a Psalm and closed it with the doxology.
A new record was set of 28 people gathered for evening prayer at the Dancers. Chairs had to be found, the kitchen table was moved, and Brian B and the pastor stood between rooms so we could all see and hear them.
Susan prepared a hearty meal of baked potatoes and chili with slaw on the side and delicious plum crumble (the plums were from her back garden) for dessert. Tea, coffee, and cake slices were served after our prayer time.
Some of us are tired tonight but we are also energized by the Word of God, the prayers of the saints, and the sweet fellowship and hospitality of our hosts.
